The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is thrilled to announce the upcoming “Casting with a Cop” event, set for June 8, 2025<\/strong>, at the scenic Newport Fishing Pier<\/strong> in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. This annual community event, now in its fourth year since its inception in 2022 under the leadership of Sgt. Ostrov, aims to foster meaningful connections between local law enforcement and the residents they serve, creating a fun and engaging day for community members of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Casting with a Cop” brings together children, families, and adults with public safety personnel from Sunny Isles Beach and surrounding communities for a day of fishing, learning, and camaraderie. The event provides a unique opportunity for attendees to interact with officers, build trust, and strengthen community bonds while enjoying the beauty of the Newport Fishing Pier. Participants will have the chance to learn fishing techniques, share stories, and create lasting memories with law enforcement officers in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s event will feature participation from a wide array of law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, Miami-Dade Police Department, Aventura Police Department, Bal Harbour Police Department, Golden Beach Police Department, North Miami Police Department, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission<\/strong>, and the Miccosukee Tribal Police Department<\/strong>. The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is proud to host this collaborative effort, showcasing the unity and dedication of our region\u2019s public safety professionals. Attendees will also meet Officer Rob and his K-9 partner<\/strong>, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
